Fantastic place for a romantic getaway and very easy walk to the restaurants in Alderley Edge. Great attention has gone into the cottage and it is a fabulously relaxing environment.

A wonderful place, full of charm and warmth, for any business man reading, take the etc 20 mins off the M6 it is worth it, for families I can't wait to bring my family to visit this wonderful place. My wife and I stayed in the Merlin Suite and were blown away by the place. Wizards Thatch is unique in so much as it provides modern facilities beautifully combined within 400 year old surroundings. The location could not be better and having experienced the accommodation we will return as soon as possible. I just hope that not too many people find this place - really this should be a well guarded secret.

A great experience! This ancient cottage oozes with lore and history... great newspaper clippings decorate the spaces which are both cozy and luxurious at the same time. It is located literally 75' from the heart of the best restaurants and shops, yet when you are in the Wizard's Thatch you feel as though you are in a forest 500 years ago. A 5 minute drive will take you to "The Edge" and some of the best hiking trails in the UK. Although it is a "self catering" facility, we were given a Royal Treatment from our awesome host... great stories and insights into the area. We can't say enough -- the highlight of our honeymoon!

Absolutely stunning little hideaway, something different & perfect for a romantic break ...would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all & relax in the lap of luxury! The little extra touches made the stay, and the four poster was the most comfortable bed we've ever stayed in, definitely worth a visit!

I booked this as a luxury treat for myself and my husband and it certainly fitted the bill. The owner showed us around and was very welcoming and explained where everything was. I was anticipating something special from the photo's on laterooms and its own website and it didn't disappoint ! The cottage is off a main road, but the traffic noise, although there, just fades into the background as you step into another world. For a period type property I've never seen one so spotlessly clean as this. Lots of attention to detail all around the property including lovely soft towels, glossy magazines to read and chilled champagne awaiting our arrival. It was so peaceful in the cottage I didn't want to switch the TV on, so we put the CD Player on instead ! When we ventured out for food we were very hungry and although there are 14 restaurants in Alderley Edge we ended up at the local chippy a couple of minutes down the road. Its called Fosters and has just won an award for the best chippy in the North West area. They were the best fish and chips I've ever had ! All in all a superb night away and I want to return as soon as I am able !!! Very highly recommended - Thanks Ian.
